Are dinosaurs the new owl fox hedgehog? I sure hope so! I love dinosaurs, and I love these birthday cards from Papillon Press. The letterpress studio features a variety of dinosaur designs:

If you're not a fan of dinos (what's wrong with you?), they also have some other cute party animals, like a squirrel and moose. As far as I'm concerned, you can never go wrong with animals in party hats. Cards available on their website, or Etsy page.

rifle paper co. wallpaper

Rifle Paper Co. wallpaper is here! They have partnered with Hygge & West to create a collection of six wallpaper patterns, with each available in 4-5 colorways. And of course, they're amazing.

I have literally been counting down the days until these were released, even though I'm really in no position to be putting up wallpaper in my rental. That won't stop me from daydreaming about which patterns I would choose for my future dream house though...

Not surprisingly, the florals are right on point. Two of Rifle's iconic floral prints were included in the collection, Peonies and Rosa. My landlord couldn't possibly get mad if I covered my walls in something this gorgeous, right?!

I was a bit surprised by how much I am in love with the patterns available on a black background, like the Pineapple and the Queen Anne. I'm usually drawn to lighter colors, but I can't resist the high contrast with that metallic gold! They're so moody and dramatic! I think these would be perfect for a small powder room. Or the world's prettiest closet. 

Someone with kids needs to get the Safari print installed tout de suite! Just look at that little elephant!

Check out Hygge & West for the full collection. For fellow renters out there (or those afraid of commitment), they do sell some removable wallpaper tiles. No Rifle prints yet, but there are some good options (my fave is the Otomi). Hygge & West, if you're reading, maybe you could offer removable options in some of the Rifle prints? Pretty please??

Are you ready for Valentine's Day next week? I have mixed feelings about it myself. Of course I love the red and pink everywhere, and I'll never question an excuse to eat candy, but the whole thing can get a bit cheesy. I'm not so into mediocre prix fixe dinners and forced romance. I'd much rather get flowers on random Tuesday than on the day my husband was pressured into buying a $45 bouquet of roses because he's supposed to. Plus, even though it's been an unbelievably long time since I've been a single lady, I can't help but feel like Valentine's Day is a conspiracy to make single people feel bad. I much prefer the little kid's version of Valentine's: eat sweets all day and exchange silly cards with your friends. 

Here's a few of my favorite cards to give, whether you're celebrating Valentine's this year, or even better, Galentine's Day: 

Embrace the cheese of Valentine's Day with some vintage puns! Laughing Elephant sells three different styles of assorted Vintage Valentines. They've got that great old-fashioned quality of being both charming and totally bizarre at the same time - send them to all your friends!

Flash-back to elementary school with these adorable Valentines from eeBoo. Technically I guess these are made for children, but with those ridiculously cute animals and die-cut hearts, I certainly wouldn't mind receiving one in the mail. Throw in a box of conversation hearts and you're good to go.

Happy New Year! Can you believe it's 2014?! Was your holiday season as hectic as mine? If you didn't quite get all your holiday cards sent out this year, don't fret, it's not too late to send New Year's cards. It's OK if your card didn't arrive by the first, a new year's card can be a nice way to send a thank you, or let someone know how happy you were to see them during the holidays.  Plus, any mail received in January that isn't a credit card statement is sure to be appreciated.

With Thanksgiving just days away, it's about time to start thinking about holiday cards. For those of you not sending photo cards, I thought I'd share some of the best holiday cards I've come across so far this year. 

tiny messages

These tiny cards are awesome. They seem like an especially great idea going into the holidays, when we all get a bit stressed and could use a little note of gratitude and encouragement. These would be so fun to slip to your co-workers, your favorite barista, or the harried cashier helping you on Thanksgiving (please tell me you're not shopping on Thanksgiving). The best part is you don't even have to write anything on them, you can just leave one for someone as an anonymous message from the universe.

I've never sent out photo holiday cards before (it hasn't really seemed necessary without babies to show off), but these new glitter cards from Tiny Prints have me reconsidering (does anyone want a photo of my dog dressed as an elf?).
