second wedding anniversary

This week marks my second wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe that its already been two years! Sometimes it feels like happened just last week and other days it feels like we've been married forever (though in a way we have been- we did date for seven years before tying the knot!). I thought I'd share a few photos and some details on the awesome vendors we worked with:

We tried to DIY as much of the decor as we could, but we couldn't have pulled it off without the help of our amazing friends and family. A whole crew of people showed up early on the morning of our wedding to arrange flowers, set up speakers, and hang pom poms, globe lights, and wedding flags. We were so grateful to have so much support, it really made the day feel like a community event.

In a moment of wedding-induced insanity, I decided to do all the flowers for the wedding myself. Both the wooden boxes and the flowers were purchased from the SF Flower Mart. My incredible maid of honor braved the flower mart with me the morning before the wedding, and then a team of my friends helped arrange them that afternoon. The containers were filled with floral foam to keep the flowers stable and hydrated for the trip to the wedding venue.

For a pop of color on the tables, I made easy and inexpensive runners using rolls of wrapping paper from Paper Source. The votive holders were a combination of vintage glasses collected from thrift stores and glass votives from Luna Bazaar. The table number holders were made by slicing redwood branches we snagged from our friend's backyard. We named each table after places we stopped on our cross-country road trip when we moved to California.

We ordered custom wedding flags from Casa Bonampak in San Francisco. They work with artisans in Mexico who hand punch tissue with your names and custom design. The amount of detail that goes into each flag is amazing and truly a work of art. This is one area I didn't even want to try to DIY, there is no way I could have cut these out by hand.

Our cake was made by my good friends at Oakland Bakes. They based the cake design on the dahlias in our flower arrangements. If you can believe it, it was even more delicious than it looks!

There's nothing like globe lights to keep the party going once it gets dark!
